How Can red Rashes All Over The Body Of A Baby Be Treated?

2 year old female has red rash all over body, running low grade fever 101. Rash doesn t seem to bother her and she acts fine. She has been on amoxicillin for a week for ear and sinus infections. Could this be the beginning of strep (lots of kids at child care have had it this week) or allergic reaction to medicine? Can I give her Benadryl to see if rash goes away?

Hello,

After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that body rash can be due to fever and you need to treat fever, the rash will go away on it’s on.

You can apply Lacto calamine or Ritch lotion for rashes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
